Dr. Jean and Vince began their careers in higher education, working for enrollment driven institutions. In 1998 they started Norton | Norris Inc. and grew it to become a leading resource for training, marketing and mystery shopping. In 2022 the Reality Based Group acquired Norton | Norris. Vince and Jean now work with select clients who need “fresh eyes” to inform and fuel growth.

Dr. Jean Norris is the creator of influential work in professional development, communication, and ethical sales practices.
As the co-founder and managing partner of Norton Norris, Inc, Jean developed an award-winning sales training program and has been recognized for exceptional training outcomes and participant engagement for tens of thousands of participants over her 35 years in the higher education sector.
Jean earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management, a Master of Arts in Communication and Training and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership. She also has extensive training as an NLP Master Practitioner.
Currently, Dr. Norris leads InJeannious, Inc., a firm specializing in professional development and innovative business solutions.
Jean is also the founder and Chairman of the Board for the Association for the Advancement of the College Admissions Profession (AACAP), a non-profit member organization dedicated to those serving in roles to support college students.
She has also served on the board for Breakthrough T1D (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). Jean and her son, Mike, wrote, Straight Talk from Those Living with Diabetes, with all proceeds to benefit the organization in their search for a cure. Their book was recognized with a bronze medal from the Independent Publishers Book Awards.
In her personal time, she enjoys learning, working on art projects, and living the RV life with her husband and two Labradoodles.
Since 1979, Vince Norton has worked in higher education administration, marketing, admissions, and enrollment management, for both not-for-profit and proprietary institutions. His 45-plus years of experience include 19 years in admissions, marketing, and administration at non-profit colleges, and three years with for-profit colleges. For over 20 years, he served as Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Norton|Norris.
Vince is regarded as a leading expert on college marketing and mystery shopping and delivers presentations on this topic for numerous associations. His work with mystery shopping has been published in Career College Central, Career Education Review, and online at MSN.com. His marketing expertise has garnered recognition from the Higher Education Advertising Awards, the Service Industry Awards, and The Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.
On the conference circuit Vince has delivered presentations for the Career Education Colleges and Universities (CECU), the Accrediting Commission for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET), the California Association of Private, Post Secondary Schools (CAPPS), the Florida Association for Private Career Schools (FAPSC), the Career Colleges and Schools of Texas (CCST) the Michigan Association of Career Schools (MACCS), the Private Colleges and Schools of New Jersey (PCSNJ) and the Pennsylvania Association of Private Schools (PAPSA).
